After the close of the war, some Jewish families decided to stay on in Cheltenham and consequently a Dr. A. Goldfoot reconstituted the synagogue. Since that time the synagogue has continued and has maintained services at the main Jewish festivals and on other occasions. In more recent times numbers have declined and many of the local congregants are now retired. But the synagogue continues at least in part because it serves the needs of Jews scattered across a wide catchment area in Gloucestershire and surrounding areas, not to mentions tourists and visitors to the town. The synagogue is also a popular venue for school RE trips and provides a valuable service in this regard as well.

There have been some five weddings in the 20 years up to 1995.
In 1998 there were some 70 Jews in town but the congregation had relatively few younger members - about half of the congregation are retired. In 1995 the synagogue held a minyan on the first Friday of each month and celebrated the High Holy Days.
