Another special class of Jewish visitors or resident, serving the needs of the Bath society, were performing artists. John Braham, the celebrated Jewish tenor sang in Bath on a number of occasions from 1794. A Charles Galindo performed in the Play, The Jew, by Cumberland, as well as advertising his services as a fencing master. Nicolas Ximenes performed on the violin on a number of occasions. Emanuel Spiruntini, a cello virtuoso took up a later career as a wine merchant in Bath.
