Getting There

There is some Motorway but mainly "A" road access to Bury St Edmunds and Thetford. There are direct bus services from London Victoria to Bury St Edmunds, Thetford and Bungay. The direct bus connection to Bungay is the only direct public transport link to the village. There are rail services from London King's Cross to Bury St Edmunds (largely changing at Ely or Ipswich), also there are services from London Kings Cross and Liverpool Street to Thetford (largely changing Ely and Norwich). East Anglian destinations are quite distant from London and travel times can be longer than to some parts of the country of a comparable distance.

Disabled Access

There may be problems of full access to some parts of the Moyses Hall to disabled visitors, especially to the upper floors. All the other Bury St Edmunds sites are readily accessible. There are modern toilet facilities (including disabled) for all visitors in the Abbey Gardens. Further information can be gained from the Tourist Information Centre at Angel Hill, near the Abbey.
